We are offering a unique opportunity to start as a Site manager of the Netherlands' first cycling village, to grow into a participant in operations.
The cycling village is located in the green heart of Brabant, at the foot of a mountain that is being developed into an exercise mountain, with a cosy and sporty Wielercafé as its central meeting place. With a combination of catering, accommodation, business meeting facilities in an entourage that breathes cycling, this is a place that offers both relaxation and professional growth.

Who are we?
Village Départ opened its doors on 16 June 2024. So we are still a young organisation with plenty of room for creative input.
With three permanent staff and a flexpool of 10-15 employees (kitchen, service, dishwashing and facilities), we form a close-knit and enthusiastic group whose biggest drive is hospitality and providing a special experience for our guests.
Operational control of the kitchen and bar lies with our two most experienced catering staff.
We are open 7 days a week year-round from 09:00-17:00. There are also regular meetings and get-togethers/parties that sometimes continue into the evening.
Finally, we are able to offer our guests a total experience through our sleeping quarters, divided between 2 sleeping rooms in the main building and 5 special holiday cottages in the greenery.
We want to become the cycling hotspot of Brabant, without losing our informal and convivial character. Personal attention to our guests is our top priority at all times!
What do we offer?
- An opportunity to work with the director-owner and her enthusiastic young team to take the concept to the next level.
- Shared responsibility for both the strategy and day-to-day management of the entire venue (including business guests and leisure guests).
- A cosy burgundy café from 9am to 5pm, serving lunch, coffee & cakes, with regular drinks, walking dinners and other parties and events.
- Building network for corporate clients to organise meetings, team building activities and networking events, among others.
- Rental of 5 holiday cottages and 2 upstairs sleeping quarters (total approx. 30 beds)
- The challenge is to work with us to grow the concept further, in terms of hospitality, cycling events and business.
- Market-based salary (bonus structure may be a possibility).
- The opportunity to participate in the ownership of the operation, through own contribution, a reservation of realised profit distribution, or otherwise, upon demonstrable ownership for and contribution to realised growth.
Your profile:
- Young entrepreneurial thinker and doer with leadership qualities and commitment
- Demonstrated experience in leisure / hospitality (preferably kitchen) is a strong plus.
- Participation in the day-to-day management of the entire site, with co-responsibility for all functions present.
- Flexible, no 9-17 mentality and willing to work weekends and evenings too.
- Able to lead, motivate and connect a young but ambitious team and grow as a team.
- Hospitality as a primary drive. Affinity with the (business or leisure) cycling world is a plus.
- Ambition to participate in operations in the medium term.
- Driven and hands-on, with the ambition to take the company to the next level.
- Able to take both operational and strategic responsibility, bear ultimate responsibility for the operation in the absence of the director-owner and (under)seek and exploit opportunities in the market.
We are looking for a manager with participation ambitions who is as enthusiastic about the concept as we and our guests are, and who wants to join us in shaping and expanding the future of this unique concept.
